Home LogBook Privacy Policy
Last updated 31 July 2026
1. About this Privacy Policy
Home LogBook is operated by Amur Property Partners.
In this Privacy Policy, “Home LogBook”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Amur Property Partners in connection with the Home LogBook website and service. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Home LogBook is a digital logbook for your home. It lets you record the appliances and systems in your property, when they were installed and serviced, and receive reminders before the next service falls due.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run your logbook:
- Account details: your name (if you give it), email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.
- Contact details you choose to add for reminders, such as a mobile number.
- Property information: a nickname, suburb, state and postcode if you choose to add them.
- Logbook entries: the items in your home, their make and model, install, service and warranty dates, costs, notes and the name and phone number of whoever services them.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type and general usage information collected when you visit the site.
You decide how much detail to enter. Every field beyond your email address is optional, and you can leave the property address out entirely.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information when you:
- create an account or sign in with Google;
- add or edit items and service records in your logbook;
- email us or reply to one of our messages; and
- browse the website, through standard web analytics.
4. Why we collect and use it
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account;
- store and display your home's logbook to you;
- work out when a service or warranty is next due and send you a reminder;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- improve and troubleshoot the service; and
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your logbook with tradies, insurers, real estate agents or advertisers.
5. Reminders and other messages
Creating an account allows us to send you the service messages you have asked for — reminders about upcoming services and warranties, and messages about your account.
We will only send you product news or marketing if you have separately opted in. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your reminders. Our messages will always identify Home LogBook as the sender.
6. When we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to:
- service providers who host our infrastructure, send our email and provide analytics;
- professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary;
- authorities where required or authorised by law;
- to protect the rights, property or safety of a person; and
- an acquirer as part of a genuine merger, restructure or sale of the business.
7. Overseas storage and processing
Some of the technology providers we use may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Cookies and analytics
Home LogBook uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep you signed in;
- remember your preferences; and
- understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the service may not work properly without them.
9. Security
Your logbook is tied to your account and protected by row-level security in our database, so other users cannot read your records. We use reputable hosting providers, encrypted connections and access controls, and we limit staff access to what is needed to support you.
No online service can be completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your logbook for as long as your account is open, because its value is its history. If you delete an item it is removed from your account. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information unless we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
Where an account has not been used for 24 months and there has been no contact, we may delete or de-identify it after letting you know.
11. Access, correction and deletion
You can view and edit almost everything in your logbook yourself at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its contents. Email us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
12. Privacy complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
13. Children's privacy
Home LogBook is intended for adults responsible for a property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Home LogBook develops — for example when we add new features, change providers, or when the law changes. The current version is always published here with its date, and we will tell you about significant changes.
